  • 1 min read

👉The Geophysical Institute and the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research in Bergen have a vacancy for a PhD Candidate in Marine Biogeochemistry.

👉The appointed PhD candidate will investigate how carbon and nutrient signals propagate between The Arctic and North Atlantic and how these exchanges influence their biogeochemical functioning across timescales ranging from months to centennial. The project will further examine how these processes are linked to climate variability and long-term climate change.

👉The PhD candidate will utilize most recent climate and ocean model simulations in combination with observational data. There is, in addition, a possibility for the PhD student to design and perform targeted modelling experiments.

👉As a PhD-candidate at the Geophysical Institute at University of Bergen, you will also be affiliated with the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research (BCCR). BCCR is the largest climate research centre in the Nordic countries and has a broad international environment.

👉 More information about the position can be found here.

‼️ Deadline for application: 18 March 2026.
